New Programs & Partnerships

As we continue to cultivate communities of kindness, future newsletters will highlight the stories and people whose lives we’re honored to be a part of.

Spring was filled with many exciting partnerships.

We want to shout out the Spectrum Club of Fort Bragg High School as this year’s incredibly successful organizers of the second annual Fort Bragg Pride Celebration! The MCSSP Board sponsored the event and mentored our local youth in putting on this joyous and important community event, showing our passion for lifting up community groups and individuals interested in creating activities and events that bring people together.

MCSSP also extends our gratitude to Fortunate Farms for their $500 donation to the Roy Mora Scholarship Fund which supports graduating LGBTQIA2S+ seniors across the county.

Finally, a huge THANK YOU to the Mendocino Community Foundation, 100 Women Strong of Mendocino Coast, and the Trans Justice Funding Project who have supported us financially through recent grants.

Every connection builds our capacity to expand programs and equitable access to resources. Volunteers and donors are at the core of our Community Lifelines.

For the first time, we provided peer support and resources at the Fort Bragg Farmer’s Market thanks to the effort of volunteer Jack Jones (he/him). Jack has played a huge role in revitalizing our public outreach and engagement.

MCSSP is also offering our first LGBTQIA2S+ teen Lifelines Support Group, led by associate therapist Tristan Crane (he/him). Tristan’s work embodies one of the ways that collaboration can build safer spaces vital to rural youth.

Board member Kaz Costa (they/them), has been working behind the scenes to expand our online footprint with fresh website and newsletter content. Their experience in education technology and programming has allowed us to start developing an online community classroom.

All MCSSP programs are free or sliding scale, based on the principle that radical change requires flexible accessibility and inclusive action.

You can participate in the future of MCSSP by becoming a board member, volunteer, or partner. We welcome community members from all walks of life, valuing cultural care and humility as a primary contribution. Visit our Contact Page to share your skills and ideas!
