June Pride Reflections

Welcome Friends & Allies to our newly launched Safe Space newsletter!

In this past month of Pride gatherings and celebrations, we're thankful for the connections and care shared in Mendocino County. Building bridges for communities based on care is the foundation of MCSSP, as we model the change we hope to see in the world.

We’ve opened many new doors in 2026 by…

  • Providing Safe Space Trainings for the Fort Bragg Police Department.

  • Awarding the Roy Mora Memorial Annual Scholarship.

  • Sponsoring the 2026 Fort Bragg Pride March & Celebration.

  • Facilitating a county-wide virtual Youth Support Group.

  • Offering free Peer Support and Resources to individuals and families.

  • Tabling at public events throughout the county.

‍ ‍ We want to shout out the Spectrum Club of Fort Bragg High School as this year’s incredibly successful organizers of the second annual Fort Bragg Pride Celebration! The MCSSP Board sponsored the event and mentored our local youth in putting on this joyous and important community event, showing our passion for lifting up community groups and individuals interested in creating activities and events that bring people together.

MCSSP founders, board members, and volunteers attended multiple Pride events across the county providing much needed in-person peer support and resources.

Each of these programs brings our communities closer and strengthens the MCSSP mission to to increase support and safety for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Two-spirit (LGBTQIA2S+), and other gender and sexual non-conforming people.

Your investment is critical for the continued growth of safe spaces within Mendocino County.

Join us today by Donating to our Community Lifelines initiative. Donations support free advocacy materials and training, youth activities, scholarships, and safe space events.

MCSSP will be able to facilitate events throughout the year, with your help. We offer free Safe Space Trainings to any organization or business, plus Event Mentorship in support of others producing free activities that bring visibility and advocacy to LGBTQIA2S+
